Rabat Labour Committee remembers times gone by...
Last Friday, December 7th marked the 25th anniversary from the opening of the Malta Labour Party Club premises in Rabat. It summed up a whole week of activities which had started with Dr. Stefan Zrinzo Azzoppardi officially opening of a unique photographic exhibition showing significant episodes from the Labour Party’s history attached to this locality.
Discussions, including the likes of former minister Dr. Daniel Micallef as well as the wife of late acting President Pawlu Xuereb; Edwige Xuereb, helped rekindle memories of times gone by. The likes of Joe Fsadni, Maria Camilleri, Inez Giordimaina, Josephine Fenech, Joseph Chirchop and Nenu Vassallo who have all been instrumental along the years throughout various Labour party committee ranks, also narrated the highs and lows of early committees and the sacrifices early members had to endure to achieve what has been achieved in this day.
Malta Labour Party leader Dr. Alfred Sant accompanied by Dr. Charles Mangion brought the week-long celebrations to a close on Friday, uncovering a special plaque commemorating the club’s 25th year anniversary.
